MP/KH Ideas

VCs aggregate public data to help inform investing decisions… what if we packaged behavioral stats of teams and companies… certainly there is a certain power combination for startups. This insight would help inform internal dynamic temperatures of the founding team’s success. See ‘The Quantitative VC’ article on TechCrunch “The Quantitative VC” – http://tpt.to/a3wVlqr

I liked that it tries to solve all problems RIS2013 companies focused on individually but it also dilutes message and loses focus on competitive advantage. Focus on what makes us unique- behavioral insights data- cool features not offered anywhere else yet.

Parallel product structure for ‘professional development experience’ for both candidates looking for jobs and for companies that are using tech internally for development

Parallel product structure for identity verification for hiring managers and candidate insights on their professional brand management

Feedback survey: 1) when you are searching online for help on how you can get a more fulfilling job, what kinds of key words, phrases, websites do you use and search for?

2) If you were to give career advice to a recent college grad, and then give career advice to a young professional in their mid/late twenties, how would the advice be similar or different for each person?

Set-up student advisory task-force leaders at key/targeted schools. These student’s would be the president of the KeenHire advisory board and charged with task to assemble team of 10 or so students, academic advisor, and career counselor representative at their school. Why would they do this? We’ll pass out NDAs, make them a first mover part of the super beta/super big tech project, and potentially attach an incentive if they can get our tech fully integrated with career fair managers and students.

Competitors: NACElink, Symplicity, resumup, MOOCs, CPP inc

NACElink is great for career services to serve students.. but what about alums? What about a students second job? What about intelligent matching? Would KH be a competitive product to NACElink or could it be separate and complimentary.

Taking all the great content that career offices have aggregated and stored and making it on demand, relevant, targeted, and action enabled. Meaning– someone from Fidelity is speaking at a networking event on campus. All students who score a high match with Fidelity would get a push notification, an app/website flag, and an email about the event. You can schedule the same cascade of events an hour before the event itself to remind students. This could also work for off campus events that the CC wants students to know about (a tech startup job fair for students who score well to work in those environments).

Help career services do the job they are already doing better (for free), and then continue to help students with the same level of attention, intelligence as an alum shifting from job to job(for free). Start the intelligent career design process thinking in college and carry it with you post grad. Help match students to alum mentors based on personality fit, industry fit, and fit within their company (potential employee referral).

Have a funny sexy career passport page that with one time instruction prospects understand and know how to interpret on their own. Also make it easy for academic advisers and career services professionals to be able to read student passport and provide guidance and advice tailored to that student.

Text Start/upgrade my career to 41122. Brand 41122 hard as the number combo associated with career success- career intel. #41122 meaning 411 which is information, and 22 meaning post grad information- since most college grads are 22. Go to website like tagdef.com to define the hashtag and then religiously use it on every outgoing piece of intel/propoganda.

Billboard near farmers market or student/young person neighborhood. Make it simple, dont push the brand. Like a quote “The best day of your life is the day you decide to take control of your destiny.”

Candidate Passports interesting moves in your career– what the candidate sees and what the prospect employer sees should be different. Candidate should also be able to alter what each employer sees (like submitting different resumes for different companies, you chose to showcase certain skills and experiences that are the most relevant for the given match– perhaps after match is made and interest in shown the candidate can design a more tailored like experiences/skills profile to send over)

1) add maps for education and job locations.
2) Also enable check-in/ upcoming events feature for prospects to collect info on networking events, interviews, alumni events, conventions, association dinners (both calendar and map features). So like for me…. it would show both Eduventures convention checkins, RIS2013, InfluenceHR, 85 Broads meeting, CWBC events I’ve attended– would capture date of event/checkin can also create events like big presentation at Assumption College with some notes (this would all be retained even after you’ve left that job as a record of where you’ve been and what you’ve done), could add notes about things you’d like to remember in association with that event like attendee lists or powerpoint presentations that are shared with attendees. Career services could also push events to students that are well matched (ie- tech startup job fair) could be pushed as a suggested task to the student who can then ignore or add it to the agenda
3) Psycho-metric overview / additional games or assessments
4) Industry/ career direction suggestions
5) Top company job matches/ actual opportunities
6) Education management ( keep record of past education and recommendations for future education including discovery engine suggestions but also just a place to store recommendations from people. Prof. Joe suggested I look into UChicago for advanced psych degrees.. I go to my app and bookmark that under my education section.
7) Information interviews (people I should connect with personally to learn more about job opportunities, working in that field, etc)- can be built out of alumni profiles

Tasks section is: Both reccomendation engine suggestions, hand dealt suggestions(career office or adviser pushed), and tasks the candidate adds on their own queue. Ie- real-time ways to improve in your career (prof association events nearby, tailored higher education opportunities,

Define what the candidate passport is; large market trends why this product is needed (students getting wrong kinds of education for wrong kinds of jobs- blame lack of individual career intelligence and a lack of access to relevant opportunities; Product demo/features; competitive market; outreach strategies to partners to get mass sign-ups
