To begin taking charge of your career destiny, build your own career management website using WordPress.com.
Create tabs in your start page for the following sections:
“Power of Now”, “A Little About Me”, “Sphere’s of Influence”, “Stumbled and Noted”, “Actions Speak Louder”, and “Accomplishment Archive”.
1) Aggregate news resources in your areas of interest in the “Power of Now” page, and visit our Distilled Expertise website to discover industry specific resources you can add to your page as well.
1) Before building out each page, answer the short surveys on each section to help set the foundation for that page’s content.
3) Use answers from the survey to set up your “A Little About Me” and “Spheres of Influence” tabs.
4) Build out you “stumbled and Noted” section using the prompts from that survey.
Keep tabs on interesting articles, higher education opportunities, people you’d like to get coffee with in the “Stumbled and Noted” section.
4) Review all the information you’ve entered into the previous sections, build out real-time to do list into 6 action circles (education, groups/associations, resources, people, companies, campus resources) in the “Actions Speak Louder” page.
5) Take some action!
6) Cross off the action on the to do list once it is finished and move it to the “Accomplishment Archive”page.
7) Add new opportunities to your list and start again!
